Acadia Getaway House is open from mid-May through mid-October. Peak season is from early July until late September. Even in high summer, when the day-time temperatures can hit 95, nights are usually cool in the 50s. Frost, and even a spit of snow, is not unusual in September although the days are usually nice and warm and the nights crisp

About the House

This comfortable, well-equipped home is the perfect vacation headquarters for a family or for one or two couples while you explore Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island. More than 100 miles of hiking and biking trails are just minutes away. Dine, hike, bike, shop, go whale watching or swimming at the area’s fresh and salt-water beaches. The House is on its own short driveway with ample parking, surrounded by trees in an area of widely-spaced single family homes. You can take a short walk or bike to the Carriage Road system, hop the free Island Explorer shuttle around the Island, or sit on the deck or under the trees and listen to the breeze through the pines. We are located on Eagle Lake Road (Route 233), one mile west of the park headquarters and Eagle Lake, and less than four miles from downtown Bar Harbor.

Acadia Getaway House puts you close to everything while giving you a pleasant and private place to come home to each night.
